There is a half-hour buffer window between the daily reset and the start of the event, during which you will get your free daily tickets but not earn any points for using them. Secondly, you should try to align your recruitment with the hourly challenges. These are mini-tasks that change every hour and give you extra points and rewards for completing them. For example, if you are looking for war heroes with combat skills, you can wait for a hero pool that features season 3 or season 4 heroes with combat skills. Or if you are looking for doomsday heroes with development skills, you can wait for a hero pool that features season 2 or season 5 heroes with development skills.
